Tony Blair should have been brought before a war crimes tribunal because of the Iraq war, says Hans Blix, ukdaily.news

Of all the key players involved in the invasion, Tony Blair, the prime minister who backed US President George Bush, is one who often provokes the most violent reactions and has since faced criticism and scorn from many quarters.

Now the former weapons inspector tasked with investigating Iraq’s alleged possession of weapons of mass destruction for the United Nations has spoken out against the former prime minister.

Ahead of the anniversary, MSNBC’s Hans Blix said Blair and Bush “in principle” should have faced consequences for their invasion – which is now widely considered illegal under international law.

He said there should be a penalty for violating the “fundamental rule” of the United Nations charter – not to “use force against the territorial integrity and independence of other states”. Läs artikel
