Ukraine can use British weapons to hit Russian territory, says armed forces minister, thetimes.co.uk

The Kremlin threatened to launch retaliatory strikes on western targets yesterday as British support for attacks on Russian territory risked escalating the conflict outside Ukraine’s borders.

James Heappey, the armed forces minister, said it was “completely legitimate” for Ukraine to hunt targets in Russia to disrupt logistics, even if the weapons were British-supplied.

In an interview with Times Radio, he said that “of course” Britain backed what were said to be Ukrainian strikes on fuel depots in Russia this week. He said logistics that were not disrupted “would directly contribute to death and carnage on Ukrainian soil”. Läs artikel
